Modan Publishing House
Modan Publishing House was established by Oded and Shula Modan in 1970 and since then has published more than 10,000 books.
In 2016 Modan acquired Keter Books and became the biggest publishers in Israel. The annual turnover of Modan currently exceeds $15M.
Modan and Keter publish a variety of genres, including fiction (both literary and commercial, Israeli and translated), nonfiction, children and young adults books, cookbooks, travel guides, albums and gift books.
The collective power of Modan and Keter, along with their 10 smaller partner imprints, publish about 400 titles a year.
Literary Fiction
Modan is known for its high-quality translated titles. Our list of translated literary fiction includes authors such as Julian Barnes, Philippe Claudel, Jeffrey Eugenides, Yan Martel, Cormac McCarthy, Karl Ove Knausgård, Leïla Slimani, Zadie Smith and Donna Tartt. Our list also includes classics by Samuel Beckett, Raymond Carver, Oscar Wilde, Virginia Woolf and Stefan Zweig.
Commercial Fiction
Our commercial fiction collection includes some of the most well-known writers in the world, including Jeffery Archer, David Baldacci, Linwood Barclay, Michael Connelly, Clive Cussler, Ken Follett, John Grisham, John Irving, Stephen King, Camilla Läckberg, Stieg Larsson, James Patterson, Lisa See, Paullina Simons, Nicholas Sparks and Jennifer Weiner.
We also represent many Israeli writers, such as Omer Barak, Yoel Hoffman, Shula Modan, Tahel Ran, Ilan Heitner, Uzi Weill and many others.
Children and Young Adults
Our excellent children's books list includes works by Anthony Browne, Eric Carle, Cassandra Clare, Julia Donaldson, Levin Kipnis, Arnold Lobel and Maurice Sendak.

As the leading publisher of cookbooks In Israel, Modan Is the publisher of Jamie Oliver and Claudia Roden, as well as a wide range of bestsellers by famous Israeli chefs.
